AMOS MILLER

Amos Miller is known for his richly textured, emotionally resonant works that explore memory, places and identity. For him home is not a single location, but a constellation of memories and landscapes. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, the University of Arizona, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago — institutions that shaped his diverse visual language. From the quiet beauty of the rural Midwest, where family life and artistic growth took root; to the vast, open countryside of South Africa, experienced through the lens of partnership and cultural connection; to the sun-soaked shores of Jamaica, reminiscent of generational bonds, his body of work reflects a sense of belonging, of rootedness — not only in place, but in emotion, memory and story. Through painting, drawing and mixed media, Amos invites us to consider the ways in which personal histories and environments shape how we see, feel and remember. Ultimately, a tribute to the moments that stay with us, no matter where we are. His practice remains rooted in a deeply personal engagement with the world, and the work speaks to the physical spaces that form us — and to the lasting presence of that which moves us.

Today, Amos creates out of his primary studio in Miami, Florida, while continuing to draw from the landscapes and life experiences that have defined his artistic journey.
