VIVIAN CARBONELL

Vivian Carbonell is a first-generation Cuban American artist and designer based in Miami, Florida. 

Her work merges fine art and design practices through handcrafted, limited-edition collections of lighting, furniture, and sculptural objects. Each piece is driven by an intuitive exploration of form and a lifelong curiosity about the origins and inherent character of materials.

At the core of Carbonell’s approach is a deep respect for the “life history” that materials carry—their variations in texture, weight, tone, and color—each offering a unique language that guides the design process. The studio’s work strikes a refined balance between raw and polished, where opposites coalesce into compositions of warmth, balance, and quiet elegance. Through this ongoing dialogue between material and maker, Carbonell creates contemporary pieces that resonate with presence, restraint, and timeless expression.

Her work has been featured at design and art fairs including Design Miami/, Scope, and Place Projects, and most recently in exhibitions with Onna House in East Hampton and Palm Beach, Florida. Her bespoke designs are sought after for elevated residential and hospitality projects by leading names in architecture and interior design.
