Geological forces cement layers of sediment. Colors and patterns appear to be placed at random with in tons of earth. Seasonal Cycles of hot and cold effect the growth rate of trees scaring their internal cellular structures.

We are drawn to these patterns and perceive them to be natural which they very much are but not in the way they are being processed.  There is something unnatural about looking at a cross section of wood or stone, yet we are mesmerized. There is a blurred line between natural and human intervention.
